This. Thank you Rick Perry and Greg Abbot for turning me into a walking ATM and never allowing me the right to see my kids. I have to pay or go to jail, but I don't have the right to spend time with my children? How does that work?

Personal story, and I can't say who's in the right here, but my father has owed those child support guys quite a bit of money. For a while he's had to run from those guys. I remember when I'd visit him he'd often tell me to not answer the door when he went out. He is a lawyer, and from my understanding, it's a bit hard to work your way up in that industry due to saturation. He's just recently found a stable job and is starting to pay bit by bit.

On the other hand, my mother did have to work really hard to support me and my brothers up until not too long ago, teaching kids during the week, and tutoring kids in the afternoons, and on weekends.

I think that before this thread gets bigger, that you guys shouldn't just rag on mothers who need child support. If anything I think that child support needs to be something that's not a set amount of money that needs to be paid. It should be worked out on a month-by-month basis. I fully acknowledge that my mother needed the money, but did anyone actually believe my father would be able to pay when he couldn't afford the rent? (he had to move 4 times in the span of a few years.)

Also their agency took a ton of money from my grandfather's bank account just because it had a name similar to my father's, so fuck those guys.

It's outrageous the benefits whores get in our society. Where is the equality? How can men stand for this?
