More importantly though, why the hell are they uploading mugshots to facebook? I know mugshots and arrests are public record in the US, but posting them to FB seems unnecessary. These guys have only been arrested, not convicted, and their face is being plastered all over social media?

This isn't objectification - they want him to want them.

Just like most cases of female "objectification," their interest rests on him being able to make his own decision and choose them.

Don't misuse the same terms they do.

Edit: People seem to be bothered by this one. Perhaps I should make it clearer.

"I want you to want me" is an act of wanting someone not to be an object. You want them to have agency, and to exert it on you.

That's subjectification - you want them to be the subject of your fantasy, not the object. If you wanted them to be an object, then you would want to be sleeping with them regardless of whether they wanted it or not.

Rape is objectification. Wanting someone to give you a lap dance or break into your room at night and fuck you silly is by definition not.
