I would never post this to /r/theredpill because political discussions are rightfully banned. But I feel like we are small enough and mature enough, to have an actual discussion of politics from a standpoint of power.
Note that I am a mod here, and if this devolves into a flame-war, ad-hominem attacks, baseless political zealoutry, "passion", anger without underlying facts, or off-topic discussions, I will delete the thread in question and discuss with the other mods potential bans. Stay on topic and stay rational.
This is related to many discussions on /r/darkenlightenment as well.

I assert that over a minimal level of protection (the defense budget is 1/3 of the federal budget), and expansion taxes are a form of control. They are systematically taking resources from those who have found a way to acquire it (via inheritance, hard work, thievery, whathaveyou), and redistribute it to those who are too weak, or not clever enough, or yes even not fortunate enough, to have received it.
It's a form of power in an epic right. The poor recruiting the powerful politicians to take resources (money or property) from the wealthier, since they don't have the ability nor desire to take it themselves. If they did, they likely wouldn't be as poor.
By painting it as "doing the right thing", they elicit the idea of "morality" for their own end goals, twisting it and using it to gain more power.
While that harps pretty hard on hardcore democrats, the hardcore republicans are not immune, either. They have elicited the idea of "morality" for their own end goals of controlling others' sexuality and can be considered pawns of the church.
I assert that both sides are really just knights of either the poor trying to take more resources for themselves, the church scared of losing power of its congregations, or the wealthy trying to hold on to their acquired resources.
In the book Might is Right, the authors discussed the idea that every oppressed people who "took back their freedom" from their oppressors, really just exerted their power and took resources from their oppressors usually by force, viewing life as a constant struggle for acquisitions. Extremely competitive and non-cooperative way to view the world, which the authors assert is the natural order of nature.
Painted in this light, let's have an actual discussion of politics and power without the petty flame-throwing and ad-hominem, emotional arguments, that feminized men have.

That's all well and good, until I assemble my gangs, acquire my weapons, start taking over nearby communities by force and enlisting more men into my growing army. Eventually I'll acquire enough territory that I will require sub-administrators to run those regions and supply me with resources so that I can take over more "communities" and acquire more territory. And since your all so decentralized that you have no strategic firepower, I will conquer you easily. Any who oppose me will die very painful and very public deaths, along with their immediate male family members, their females will be used by my growing army as playthings. The only thing that can stop me is another man doing the exact same thing who happened to do it faster then me.
Welcome to how virtually every society on the planet was formed. You can sit back and philosophize using unreal conditions because you have been so far removed from the realities of base human nature that you have long since forgotten the law of the jungle. Conquest is natural and the only future peace has is warfare.

A fantasy land that people without hard knowledge of human nature believe in. It ranks up there next to Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, and a non-hypergamistic women.
You might as well start referring to this magical place that we can only get to by blindly making you a deity figure centuries after your death. This place where there is no sickness, death, violence and everyone frolics around and acts out their deepest fantasies without interruption or competition from anyone else.
While your busy believing in your utopia, I will continue to build my armies because I lust for power. I'm a goal orientated overachiever who has killed or deposed all my challengers and now stand on top of my own tribe. I encouraged the men in my tribe to arm themselves and train to fight mercilessly with whatever weapons we can acquire. When I show up at your gate you will not be prepared to repel me, you will be out matched, out manned and out trained. My men will have greater experience, tactics and leadership skills then your hastily assembled posse of civil defenders. We will crash through your feeble fortifications, kill all your defenders, enslave any non-warrior males and use your land for it's resources and as a supply of warm bodies to fill our ranks. The young men in your tribe will quickly join our ranks, either as a warrior or working logistics, otherwise they will be killed, there is little other choice for them. Any egalitarian policies you previously had will be broken as I now enforce my militaristic society onto you. I'll eventually write myself into your histories as a great savior coming to liberate you from an oppressive tyrannical government. I will teach your children to despise you, and they will listen because you will be dead and I'll be writing the history books.
The single sole weakness is if I over expand too fast without first establishing firm control, both with military might and with cultural teachings, of each area I conquer.
This is a pattern that has been repeated throughout history in every civilization ever seen. The various cultures of South American did this, as did the ones of North America, all of Asia, Europe and Africa. This is the law of the jungle, the strong survive the weak perish, the victors control the history and the spoils of conquest. Before you can even attempt to understand the ways of power structures you need to first understand human nature, even the nastiest parts we like to tell ourselves don't exist in us.
