I still don't understand how this isn't the most obvious violation of men's rights in the US. The Constitution's 14th Amendment granting due process and the 13th Amendment requiring protection against indentured service absent punishment for a related crime.

I'll tell you not what child support should be but rather what should be taken into consideration. All the bills of the parent paying. My dad after every week for 3 kids over 20 ish years had just about $10 left after he covered his rent, utility . He somehow had to buy groceries for the week with $10 , how do you live? Then my mom was angry that he could not feed us when we there. Like derrr u raped him of all his money . Living conditions of the parent paying child support should matter. My mother unemployed on mother's allowance blame the fact we had no money on my father.

To start. I'm very much in favor of men's rights. I just wanted to say that my child support was based off of my exes and my income AND how often we each had our son. We split custody 50/50, and they looked at both of our w2's from the year before. That's how most states do it. I'm not saying that women don't "work the system", but technically child support is based off of BOTH parents incomes.

i agree, cause my dad cheated the system and got paid under the table a lot, i grew up with barely enough to get through.

child support should be based on realistic costs of living in the area and the fathers income ought to play a role in how much of it is paid by them and how much is paid by state to ensure children survive and grow up like a normal person.

Child support should be what ever Bill's for the kid only cut equally in half and receipts should be mandatory or have it as a loadable card like for WIC. I would never put my child's father on child support even if we split. I'd just tell him what we need. That being said men who dont take care of their children should have some sort of punishment. It takes 2.

I don't agree with this "if women aren't to be held responsible, neither should men" attitude. That's just lowering your standards instead of upholding them. Women and men should be held responsible for their actions and for having sex. When you have sex, you are accepting the risk of becoming a parent, even if contraception is used. Women should NOT be allowed to kill their child, nor should men be freed from their role as a provider for the family for the sake of "equality".

If you allow the nuclear family to be deconstructed by taking away the parents' responsibilities, that is just going to make the people involved, especially the children, miserable.
