I dropped the kids off at school yesterday. I got talking a mum with a kid in my daughter’s class.

She explained how her hubbie is back in the mines with FIFO, and looking to start his own long haul business, to make ends meet after their farm stopped being financially viable. She stayed home, did the bookkeeping and managed their 4 kids.

On the other hard, my wife criticised the fuck out of me for working my ass off, sometimes two jobs, to bring in the money that allowed her to work part time, ride horses, go on holidays. I followed my wife around the country (she’s Defence) yet remained the primary bread winner and carried high domestic load.

I realised that if I had a wife that was a supportive partner rather that someone cutting me down every day, this family would be unbeatable.

I can’t wait to be back in full control of my time and life!
