What a morning this was. Attorney called me in the AM to tell me that STBX filed another restraining order alleging abuse and fear for her and the children’s safety.

We got to work crafting a reply, pointing out all of her previous lies and all of the inconsistencies and stretches in her affidavit and in the transcript of the original hearing. We asked that the judge also consider the other evidence at hand, videos, text screenshots, audio recordings, etc. — including Nest camera footage of my supposedly abused child spontaneously approaching me, slapping at me in a playful way, and then giving me a long hug.

Her motion was denied by lunchtime. I found out that last week’s motion was denied by the judge who is considered to be the best and brightest in divorce/custody matters. Today’s motion was denied by the current presiding judge, which is a new judge since the initial temp hearing.

Documenting everything has made a huge difference in this case for me. She is fighting from a disadvantage now, and her desperation is making her commit serious errors, making her look worse and worse. Unfortunately it’s getting more and more expensive too, as she thrashes about, and it’s going to take longer. We were on track for going to mediation when she filed these TROs - now we are going to do full psych/custody evals. I guess that’s what she needs, even if it’s not what she wants.
