Totally normal, I still remember the last time I saw my ex wife and consciousnessly throught "this is the last time I'm going to see her.".

Sure enough, 18 years later, that was in fact the last time.

Yep, sitting on the fence and think about jumping to the other side is pure hell. Just remember not to rush the decision and make it purely based on emotions. Love is a powerful drug...

There has to be a reason you’ve considered this step in the first place. Did the factors that brought you there suddenly change? Do you have new information that changes the outcome?

Then continue moving on and make your life awesome for you! No one is going to do it for you...

Wish I would have found this thread a few days ago... I’ve been going through the same thing. I get pissed about some of the stupid decisions she makes, like refusing to come home and be a family rather than be out with her friends or going back to her hometown. And I try to talk to her about it, but she refuses to compromise. Eventually, I get fed up, ask her if she wants a divorce, she says yes and moves out. This is now the 3rd time it’s happened, because she finally realizes the grass isn’t greener on the other side, and we get back together, but I don’t ever say it wanting to lose my family, I just want to get her attention that something in our relationship is wrong, however, it always ends up biting me in the ass.

Let me just state for the record, I’ve had a pretty fucked up life, foster care, adoption, homelessness, military. And all of it has made me terrible at expressing emotions and saying what’s on my mind, which, I know is ultimately not helping the relationship any. But I feel like if I do tell her anything that I’m thinking, she either resents me for it, or finds a way to use it against me.

Yep. That is exactly what happened to me. All of a sudden the fear of the unknown (and losing her) was very real. I simply recalled all of the reasons that I wanted the divorce and the fear faded rapidly.
