I did have success in obtaining my 50/50 custody split. Originally, she lied to the court, saying I only wanted a 50/50 split to avoid child support, and because I wasn't the involved father I claimed to be. She was just pure evil! But I fought hard for my children and was eventually awarded 50/50 custody after 2.5 years. It was very hard for me emotionally and of course, financially. I started paying $1,640 a month! I had to work a side hustle and was still struggling to make my rent, pay child support and have enough money for groceries. Anyhow, I eventually got my 50/50 and am now paying $200 a month! So yes, one can have success if you have a competent lawyer representing you and you don't lose faith. Good luck and God bless

Oh yes! The day I was awarded my 50/50, she went home crying. She thought she would leech me forever!!!! I know so because my kids told me this the day I picked them up 🙂

Not really sure what the moderation window is but there's typically a "substantial change in circumstances" standard for modifying custody and parenting time within the first year or two depending on the state. Parenting time is typically easier to get more but because it can involve some change in child support gets fought.

To modify custody - from sole to joint is not easy. Or sole to sole, even tougher. You're usually stuck with what you have on the date of the divorce for a good long while.

Sorry I can't be more helpful as I'm not familiar with the moderation window term. Do you have a definition or some law to reference?
