I moved with my wife to her home country for a new life one year after we got married in my country but I didn’t like it there and kept asking her if we can move back, her parents didn’t want her to leave it and threatened me about separation, I didn’t want to leave my wife and so I just stayed back but there was a lot of gap forming us. Suddenly last month, I was sent a letter from a lawyer requesting separation in a registered post. I was shocked and asked my wife and her parents what’s happening, their response was that I will have a better future in my country and will not be happy in wife’s country and its better to get separated. They wanted me to stay there for a couple of days and go to lawyer and sign the divorce papers. I was lost and just packed what I could and came back to my country. My wife was crying the whole time I was packing and flying back but her parents kept her far from me. I tried calling back but they’re determined to get us divorced, I gave up and asked them to find out the next steps and let me know, its been 3 weeks since then and I haven’t heard anything from them. My wife changed her profile picture on social media but didn’t delete our pictures. I’m now worried what’s happening, Should I reach out to them or keep waiting to hear back from them.
