Co worker of mine was pretty much in the same situation, but a bit older. Took his SS only, and ex-patted out of the US. Last time he checked in with all of us, he was very happy.

I would encourage you to think about it as pressing the Big Ole Reset Button of Life and, from now on, refer to yourself as version 2 (v 2). This strategy helped me adjust to the dramatic change in life and helped me to view it positively.
