Well, not literally. The outcome of the mediation agreement left me with less than I (arguably) deserved or wanted in terms of settlement for my 20+ year contribution to the household. I paid condo dues and property tax, she paid mortgage with she says money gifted from her parents, and after that inheritance money/investment income. Apparently that makes a big difference in asserting any possible community property interest (she has the property before we married). She quit working over a decade ago against my wishes, on the basis of my paying half of household expenses and providing free health insurance. No kids in this marriage, I am in my 50s and she is a decade older. The real estate market where I lieve is a disaster for buyers, crummy apartment conversions with a one hour commute to my work are $600K.

The part where I dodged a bullet is a hard waiver on spousal support. No spousal support now or ever. I get to keep what I have earned and saved. And I get a small settlement. I could have been taken to the cleaners based upon the law in my state. But I am walking away OK-ish. I'll take it.
