Hey everyone, I just wanted to give you a heads up about the importance of updating all your account passwords.

A friend of mine in divorce recently experienced some suspicious activity on their accounts, even after changing all their passwords. So she was probably able to access all his communications with his attorney and knew his legal strategy in advance. She wasn't skilled in IT at all. However, he used to allow her access to his phone, probably enabling her by mistake to link his accounts even with two-factor authentication enabled as she was preparing in secret their separation. "
He was surprised to learn that simply changing the password didn't prevent unauthorized access. It turns out that Google allows linked accounts to multiple phones, but you can review access and IP addresses if you have any doubts.

Lesson learned: just changing passwords might not be sufficient. A better strategy is to create a completely new account at least for communication around your divorce.

If you have a lot of data stored in the cloud, you don't necessarily have to delete it. Instead, grant full access to the new account (let's call it B), and then remove the old account (let's call it A) from accessing it. Voilà!

Add you will also need to change password to all accounts especially the one that have similar password. She might use known credentials from that account to gain access to other accounts (Amazon, School app etc)

Also, consider resetting your laptop, as although less likely, a keylogger recording all your typing activities may have been installed.
