Took over 2 weeks off from work to make a good exit plan from a dead end, loveless, resentment-filled marriage. The stbxw does not know ANY of this. I plan on keeping it on the DL to avoid manipulating comments. It depends what day of the week it is when she is feeling ok to discuss divorce and the next steps.

Consulted with one attorney who I plan to retain next Monday and toured a 2-bedroom apartment to move out from a generally toxic household.

My next two weeks look like:

-Dropping property settlement agreement on stbxw's lap -Move to new apartment -Stop paying credit card for her spending which she contributes $0 cause she has been a stay at home mom our whole marriage of 6 years

Problems that I'd like help with:

-Moving out during a divorce: Will this hurt me? Most days I am really sad with who I have become and who I have married. I feel like if I do not move out, I will be wasting more of my life, but obviously I'd like to appease the courts as much as possible in case she fought my custody/visitation proposals

-Cancelling credit card to afford new apartment; Basically I'd shut off the card and she would have to buy food using her money. I would still pay the nearly $3k mortgage we have on the house cause it's on my credit and I have a government job that requires to still provide even during a separation. Big problem here is she is going to manipulate me to say I'm not providing for my kids even though I'm paying $3k a month to live in the almost 3,000 sq/ft house I have a mortgage on. I could not afford this apartment I plan to move into without shutting off this credit card from her.

Just looking for input to keep my mind moving towards the ultimate freedom of divorce and trying to keep stress levels down.
