These past 5 months have been such a roller coaster and I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. She gave me the whole "I love you as a person, however I am not in love with you as a lover anymore". I tried the fix everything she complained about, but it was never enough. She started leaving on the weekends to spend time with "family" and I ended up finding out that she had an AP. All the gas lighting started to make total sense. She was a great SAHM that prioritized our kids and our family. That all disappeared in a blink of an eye. Our kids are all under the age of 9 and my STBX decided partying and concerts we're more important then spending time with her children. She is still probably with her AP, unofficially of course because she is trying to save face in front of her family and friends that are supporting her. The majority of our mutual friends and family side with me and don't understand what she is doing.

I got her to finally agree on our divorce settlement. I believe her guilt helped me get what I got.

  • I get the kids 80% of the time. They are with me full time during the school year and we split holidays.
  • I'll be paying alimony, but I got her to settle at 50% of what was legally required (Only married 5 years)
  • I KEEP THE HOUSE
  • She gets 50% of my 401K

Reading all the experiences from other men going through the same exact things have really help me move past this divorce process. I living my life for my kids and I feel a weight lifted off my shoulders . I plan trips and spend all my time with my little ones. They are too young for me to start introducing other women into their lives and I've come to the conclusion that it will be a couple years until I try to start dating. We were together for 15 years and I'm honestly loving being single. The only times it gets difficult is not having that physical companionship and handling all the parent activities by myself (She moved 6hrs away).
