So, my wife and I are splitting after 20 yrs - Joint owned house, 2 older teens (no custody issues at all)

We've already agreed to sell the house, pay off all joint debts, then split any leftover $$$. That's set in stone....no disagreements at all.

Without getting into unnecessary stuff......in terms of not using lawyers and only using a mediation agreement (I know it has to be finalized by a lawyer):

How are the agreed payments physically made if I agree to pay their rent and, let's say, $1000/mth in alimony/child support?

Does it have to come straight out of my paycheck?

Also, does the housing rental agreement get put into both our names or just hers?

Any thoughts or recommendations on using a mediation agreement is welcome, without saying "Man, you have to lawyer up!"
