It's a common condition in many places for alimony to end if the 'supported' spouse finds a new source of 'support'.

Of course, for that reason, some people will choose to avoid marrying new partners, and sometimes fights spring up over trying to prove who's living with whom.

Massachusetts is the worst state in the US for spousal support duration. Just be glad you're getting out before the 20 year mark, else it would be lifetime alimony.

You can't predict if she's going to get remarried and/or live with someone else. Proving cohabitation will require a private investigator.

If you haven't already discussed it with your attorney, you should consider a lump-sum payout at a substantial discount (60%). It will cost you more up front, but you won't have that yoke hanging around your neck as a constant reminder.

I'm going to guess that if there is a termination based on co-habitation, the ex will likely try to hide it.

My attorney hired a private eye to show that a drug user was living with my ex-wife and kids. She denied everything in court. She was handed photos in court, but still denied everything under oath.

We weren't dealing with alimony but only custody. Sorry I can't help much more.
