Obviously, my wife is leaving me or I wouldn't be posting here. I worked so hard for so long, I spent 4 of the last 10 years in warzones trying to support everyone, my wife's dreams for her PhD. I burned the candle at both ends for so long, when the fog lifted. I changed everything, jobs so that I didn't have to travel anymore. I went to rehab last year for alcohol because everything was crumbling. 2 months ago we were looking at homesites together. That day she decided she couldn't see a future with me, and couldn't forgive my past. I was devastated, and finally let her go, after 2 months of crying and mourning, I let her go. Now she's refusing 50 50 custody, which had been on the table before. So I sit here panicking, about to lose everything that ever mattered to me. My son is terminally ill, and will be in a wheelchair in a couple years and will barely live to see adulthood. And now she wants me to only have dinner with him twice a week and every other weekend. I've been the one carrying him up the stairs at night that he can no longer navigate. I cry now every time I kiss him goodnight. Not a judge in the world is going to award 50 percent custody to someone that has barely been out of rehab a year, even though there's no history of neglect abuse financial or legal issues. He doesn't have time for a judge to deem me worthy of raising my child. I really just wanted everyone to be ok, why does it seem like I'm the only one that has to lose. I did so much, at so much cost to myself. I'm sorry if my wife got caught in the fallout. I just need a chance
