So, we have our first mediation session coming up in a few days. Long story short: Mother wants around 95% of the custody and wants to block my kid's overseas travel. Blatant and outrageous allegations with no remorse. Current arrangement is weekly custody with each parent since our separation in February 2025.

My main point to even continue on mediation rounds are:

  1. Shared equal custody and have the existing 1 week to continue

  2. Allow overseas travel with prior notification

Please note that she has recently bought a 1 bed apartment (found out due to disclosure in Form E). Can someone who has gone through the mediation (in UK) advise me on how these discussions move? I don't want to waste money on future sessions if the above points are not agreed upon by the mother. Is there any way I could get to be the primary carer? She is on a full-time employment and has a higher salary (Living standards are similar) and I can provide the same level of care to the kid as she can.
