I see quite a few men in this sub complain, one way or another, that women do not honor their commitment. I am also one of such men; but I have a question - and it's about uncontrollable nature of love.

Let's say a man and a woman are at the altar, or in registry office, or at the notary, whatever is customary in your country. They say "I do" and proclaim all kinds of intentions to be build a durable family together.

Then years pass, and women gained weight, started smoking, acquired certain unattractive character flaws, whatever. Changed for the worse. Or maybe not changed, maybe stayed the same, but man's perception has changed - he doesn't have this sexual desire of the honeymoon, sees her without the distortion of sexual interest.

Basically, what he finds out that he doesn't want her anymore, and doesn't even particularly like her anymore. He brings it up one way or another, but as it usually turns out, there's only so much one can fix - and it's not enough.

What should he do?

Should he force himself to stay with her despite the character flaws, have sex with her despite unattractiveness, getting more and more disgusted with the process (and probably having problems getting it up) every time?

Should he honor his commitment and just bite the bullet?

Basically, I think we have very limited control over how we see other person. We can't decide to love someone. And when I say "we", I mean both genders.
