Paying child support more than needed

I would not pay a dime more than court ordered as CS as it's currently implemented is not guaranteed in any way to be spent on the needs of the children at all. If the children have specific needs then I might pay over and over the court order DIRECTLY TO THE PROVIDER but would never just throw more mommy support over the fence and hope for the best. If she's not able to meet the needs of the children with state guideline CS then the children should be with me for more parenting time as I can.

I did for the same reason.

It comes down to you really. I know deep down she needs the money.

We began 50:50 and provided her payment as rhe child was with her 100% + more. However, i now have our kid more at 70:30 or more.

My caution to you is she may blow through the money and it will become a habit. My ex is more bitter now, too, at 2 year + mark. Now that i have our kid more, she also expects more from me in terms of responsibilities, which I continue to assist with (all tuition, transportation, health treatment, and so on). She's not grateful for any of the things I did to help transition her to next place. She pissed it all away. Extremely poor financial management. She hates me more now that the fog has settled and moved back in with family.

It's a personal decision. You're paying more than I am. It's also perspective to your own income and assets you own. This could be cheap to you, or you're over committing.

I say do min and pad only as much you're fully okay with.
