Hello everyone. I have been reading a lot of these posts in hopes of getting some answers or guidance for the situation I am in. I understand though that everyone’s situation is different. One of my questions if anyone can provide some guidance is regarding our finances. Now this is just one of the reasons for divorce. There are other issues at play as well but this one issue is getting us/family into trouble. At least I think so. So she is an addict. With pills, liquor and weed and shopping. We have been separated so I’m not sure if any of the other addictions are happening but I do know the shopping is happening. We have two credit cards that are joint and one that is just in her name. That she got without even talking to me. The one in her name is the one used for online shopping. And that has been either at or above the credit limit. For months. And now the other two are also at or above the limit. About 30k in debt now. I see no movement in getting a job. Or how to pay off some of it. Is it possible to freeze those accounts? Even though I still need them to purchase gas and food? Can I get a credit card just for me? Should I? She keeps telling me to move out. But I have told her to do that I would need to set up my own bank account so I can pay for rent and expenses. She didn’t understand why I would need that. So the spending is still happening. Not sure what to do.
