Wife left a few years ago and then moved back to the state. I've left her alone as she's been doing her life and I mine. It was not my choice to end the relationship and honestly, given the right circumstances, it would be nice to be together again. I doubt that will happen and don't expect it in the least. She recently got a hold of me for some tax paperwork and I casually mentioned it was funny when I had started a new job, they misinterpreted my healthcare paperwork and I ended up having her on my account for a couple months without realizing it. She joked about how nice it would be to have. As we are still married, and I hold a bit of a sense of duty, I offered to put her on my plan. Won't cost me much and I told her she need NOT feel obligated to share anything with me she didn't want to or worry about paying me. As I'm waiting to hear back from HR, she hits me up with: "Maybe we can sit and talk? Not about getting back together. I just want you to know the whole story before you agree to let me use your insurance." Now, I'm at a point where I realize she's entitled to a happy life just as much as me and as disappointed as I may be about that happy life not including me, I must and do respect her decision. (my question almost feels silly now) Now should I take a cheerful guess thru a text message how I kinda think the only reason she would want to inform me of anything health-related in-person would be that she's pregnant? Or should I just remind her she doesn't need to tell me anything she doesn't want to and keep it almost formal until I actually sit down with her? And it really won't bother me much if she is pregnant or not. It wouldn't be mine so what do I care? I've got no responsibility. It's not gonna hurt me, financially or otherwise, so why not?
