Alimony is purely non-standard and entirely at the discretion of judges. In many jurisdictions it's supposedly restricted to "no more than the shortfall in the lesser-earning spouse's reasonable budget" but that's a metric buttload of discretion in calculating anything of that nature.

filing taxes married/jointly for 2022

That's usually a legal requirement if your finances were entangled. I was separated from my ex for all of 2022, divorce finalized in April, and yet am legally required to file jointly.

split 50/50 custody

California is going to give you a hard time about that, but yeah I agree that as long as you can stay close enough that it's reasonable (i.e. you can both get your kids to school on time) and you're both passable as parents then that's in their best interests.

with or without mediation

You can do it entirely without mediation. The only thing required is that your decree covers all of the necessary subjects, and a mediator can help you make sure you can reach agreement on all those subjects. For instance, all joint assets and debts have to be resolved for who gets what (that includes your cars and bank accounts, however little they're worth). For custody you have to have a really thorough parenting plan detailing who makes what decisions, when and where exchanges of custody occur, vacation and holidays, emergencies, etc.

I thought California has lifetime spousal support for marriages over 10 years.
