I (32,F) and my husband (34,M) filed a divorce petition 2 months ago. The final hearing is scheduled in Nov. We dated for 3 years and got married last year, no kids, no share assets so the divorce is straightforward. We contributed financial 50/50 into our marriage. I’m truly a catch to him (his parents and himself admitted it: I make decent income, my family is richer than his, I can cook well, I take care of our home, and I’m good looking too), my only flaws are that I can be quite demanding since I’m quite a perfectionist in some areas and a romantic hopeless person in our relationship. I don’t need gifts, but I want attention and caring and my husband is extremely bad at it. My husband is cold in nature and very low maintenance so he would never understand my needs. He would just be happy going snowboarding every night while I was sitting at home if I didn’t tell him not to go. I tried to initiate all our fun plans since my husband didn’t care enough to do to the point I got tired since everything was on me to plan. My husband would do what I said but it’s repetitive to the point of tiring, and I feel I was more as a mom to him. He is responsible but he’s dry, cold and he doesn’t have eyes on things. For example, We split the housework since I care a lot of clean house, but my husband would push out his part like cleaning dishes to several days if he could and I’m tired of reminding him what his tasks are. My husband also got extreme anxiety quickly if we argued. He wanted divorce because of all the stress caused by trivia things. We submitted joint petition within 2 weeks after an argument and he moved out of our love nest. Recently I asked him if he wanted to get back and I told him I’m sorry that I stressed him out, I told him I will work on communication more so our love life would be easier. But he said he’s scared of future arguments. He didn’t do well after he moved out, he lost weight, lost sleep and admitted it’s hurt him a lot too. He said he still loves me and he still wears our promising ring and wedding ring. But he still didn’t want to get back. He doesn’t have anyone else yet (and it’s confirmed) and we both know it would be super hard for him to move on. This marriage is sacred to me and I really want to keep it alive. I’m really stuck of what to do. We went to counselor already but no help since my husband was too stubborn, he believes exactly what his mom told him that my shortcomings is fatal to him. He even told me to move on because I could find a better guy. Lots of people tell me he didn’t have commitment to marriage, but I love him a lot and don’t want this marriage to end since he’s overall is a nice guy and responsible. What should I do?
