Hi, this is my first post here. My ex was diagnosed with postpartum depression, exhibiting extreme paranoia, leading to marital issues after our son's birth. We agreed to divorce, but she filed a Domestic Violence Restraining Order against me, yet foolishly admitting no physical, threatening, or yelling abuse. I immediately secured a lawyer and received 50% custody. Months later, the initial temporary restraining order is still active. We can't settle it because she tries to extort me for money, and I won't stop wearing a body camera to our custody exchanges (I've caught her multiple times falsely claiming I've been aggressive). Facing a trial (civil, not criminal), I can no longer afford legal representation. My lawyer filed continuations for months under the belief that the courts favored women and settlement was our best option. I cannot agree to stop recording when the recordings protect me from false allegations. I have a lot of evidence in my favor, but I'm worried it isn't enough. Has anyone self-represented in such a situation?
