Hey everyone I came on here about 2 months ago to give my story showing how I tried loving someone harder in order to have them love me back. I tried taking on chores in order to have this person spend more time with me and they still chose their friends, family etc over me. I am finally at the stage where I’ve devoted myself to the gym, writing, reading, starting a podcast (based on my hobbies), cooking, and finally I can honestly come on here and say that I do not wish them anything bad, I can now see their neglect and actions to push me, I have realized that I have done all I could in the relationship and in things I failed or lacked I was willing to open up, talk about and improve. A small victory from individual therapy and a one on one session with the couples therapist we had I received some much appreciated closure. I probably won’t speak to this person once again as a friend or anything and I don’t need their masked answers and lies. They made this decision and just like I have to accept the reality of things, they have to do the same. I know I still have things I need to work on and can acknowledge that is a sign of growth and improvement. To those just starting out, it will be excruciatingly painful at first but we will get thru it. Remember that no contact is the best thing to do in this situation. Don’t beg and have self respect for yourself. Get active/ keep yourself busy. Dive into your hobbies or work. Remember if they wanted to they would. Whether I’d be reaching out, trying to work it out, etc. Stay strong
