Divorce was final on October 17th. I already paid the October Child Support directly to the Attorney General’s Office and my plan is to pay November the same way. The Texas AG’s office is an absolute bureaucratic shit show, by the way. I tried to call to speak to an actual human with this question but got lost in auto-recordings. And, the FAQs on the website are useless.

Anyway, I’ll start wage withholding in November. Lawyer is prepping the order as we speak.

Here’s my question: If the withholding comes from 2 paychecks in November, does that get credited for the December payment to my former roommate? Or, are those funds for November?

I just don’t understand how the AG’s office operates. I want to do the right thing, but I don’t want to double pay for a month, either.
