https://twitter.com/aluisaa0/status/1760197612307693684 - I guess abused men must be “playing victim”.
Some of the responses are unhinged
“Who created sexism? Men” “Men kill each other all the time instead of helping each other”
And when men open up in the comments about female on male abuse, there’s a lot of “why didn’t you phone the police”, or “is she your ex now?”- victim-blaming tactics… aren’t they tactics a lot of people use to discredit female rape victims?
Yes, most criminals are men. Most men aren’t criminals. Let’s not forget female perps are underreported, due to attitudes like this not taking female-on-male crimes anywhere near as seriously.
I even saw one person say “when a man abuses a woman, the worst that can happen is he kills her”, “when a woman abuses a man the worst that can happen is he kills her”… apparently no matter what, the woman is always a sweet helpless victim and the man is always an evil predator.
Since I’ve been typing this, the number of likes on the posts has gone up too- 134K now…
Does anybody have anything I can comeback with? A lot of the responses towards the bottom try calling her out on it but you have to really scroll hard before getting to them.
