I'm going to catch downvotes, but in some places in the world, some men have some privilege.

But a grand universal Male Privilege™? Myth created to promote a siege mentality among feminists.

I think it's quite obviously a thing. And I think denying it outright is a little silly imo. But I will say that, like most male-specific terms like this, it should be renamed, because at the end of the day "male privilege" is just another example of highlighting how larger society views men and women along gender-conforming lines.

Here's an example feminists love to use as an everyday example of "male privilege"

Feeling condescended to at the mechanics while men are assumed to know more about car care/expected to understand things easier about cars.

This DOES happen. But is it a "privilege" man face or, and here comes another term - "benevolent sexism!?"

Assuming man knows more about cars just because he's a man is stupid, no? Just because it's a positive assumption doesn't make it any less stupid. But historically, car culture is a heavily male dominated subculture. So can it REALLY be considered male privilege and sexism against women if a mechanic makes a quick assumption the dude customer may know more than the chick customer?

It's an assumption a mechanic makes based off of, as I said, a myriad of cultural factors.

And this is just one example.

Why is it between Feminists and you guys everyone thinks this is some sort of Zero Sum game?

The only reasons the systems that make life harder for men and women still exist is because if they were to be overturned everyone would lose a little something and all anyone wants is to have their cake and eat it.

Men have it easier in some ways. Too easy. So do women, just in entirely different ways.

All privilege is contextual.

So in some contexts (such as less worry walking around at night) male privilege exists but similarly so does female privilege (such as being in front of a judge/family court)

Legit, stop believing in the idea women are oppressed. Oppression as term I believe was popularized by marx, and the definition itself is vague beyond belief. He used this for (i believe exclusively for white, primarily male) individuals of the working class. Later it was used for afro-americans, and rightly so.

White women only started calling for "women's liberation" because the african woman was finally being freed from her position as a sex slave white men and a maid for white women. Thus the white women became oppressed, and her oppression was "just like african ppl oppression". In fact, some of these white women said in the 18/19th century that there position is worst than capital S slavery.

White women didn't want to work, she just wanted to own slaves, serfs, and employees while still married. She lost her right to a maid and thus feminism became mainstream, hence angry bored white housewives. And now we exist in a world of middle class, mediocre, female descendants of these racist white women who cry about 50/50 domestic "labour" when these neo-females dont even take out the trash, mow the law, or shovel snow.

Stop thinking with 'gender-based privelege', privelege only exists on racial and class lines, white women made up the rest (and neglected all the evidence of men's abuse at the hands of women) to piggy back on the civil rights movement that was for afro-americans and white workers.
