The OOP doesn’t know know if he was sexualising her. Maybe it was a compliment — just as she did and he was being polite and returned the compliment — or he was being sarcastic or it was a joke. It’s a similar action in return.

I feel as much disdain for misandrists as the next person here, but in this particular instance I kiiiiinda sympathise with this woman. She just wants to compliment guys without suffering an uncomfortable moment, and it's true many men make it sexual.

We as guys know pretty well how starved for compliments we are in comparison to women (which influences the sexualizing of the few we get) so I think the goodwill of girls like the original poster should be encouraged, not dismissed.

The comments to this post are probably just your good ol' misandrist generalizations, but I'm sympathetic to the poster.
