Probably because he did it out of a place of seeing women's value as just their pussies and didn't want to bother manipulating women, who "don't actually feel real love", to get his needs met. Employing sex workers can be fine, it just tends to be the case that many peoples' motivations are not healthy.

Hey, this sub got me curious even though I have nothing to do with it, and I came across your comment. I mostly agree, if it wasn't for one thing. Employing sex workers is inherently harmful, most of them (80 %) actually want out: they feel stripped of their dignity and their value as an human being, expecially the moment some random man pays to, basically, rape them. If the act was truly consensual, the client wouldn't have to pay for sexual service: to be fair, there wouldn't be a client/prostitute dynamic at all, if it was even slightly healthy. Most women in that industry didn't have a choice: they can't find any other employement for various reasons and, as for now, that's the only possible way they can support themselves financially. A very low percentage of prostitutes is genuinely enthusiastic about her job, most of them don't support the term "sex work" or "sex worker" as it normalizes the exploitation and, in some cases, the abuse of desperate women. I raccomend looking up the Nordic Model: it's a model of prostitution that criminalizes the client and helps the prostitute build a better life. It's currently being used in Canada, amongst other countries. Not to mention that the idea of sex work in itself leads to the objectification of the female body and enforces the notion that it's property (specifically men's), or that sex is a human right. Since this is a recovery sub for former incels, I should thought this might help someone.

From logical POV, how does criminalizing your work (because let's face it, you can either do it but only for free or underground) help the workers? Would the same approach make better working conditions for the workers in other sectors such as construction or clothing industry? Nordic Model's sole purpose is eradication of paying for sex and making the conditions of sex work unappealing. The model's advocates refuse to listen to the workers / their organisations.

I'm not arguing that slavery doesn't exist. It's just that the authorities/the police instead of focusing on the enslaved, focus on the sex workers and people involved with them. It's a waste of resources and pretending the problem of slavery's taken care of. Here's an article how among 996 arrested only 3 of those arrested were actual victims of sex slavery. It's also worth noting that the organisation OURrescue used false data.
