I (M23) had a girlfriend - I think I still have her. I am not sure now.

Does anyone feel as though their past red pill ideologies ruined their healthy relationship and if you have been fortunate enough, how did you move past this?

My life is a fair mess but I am trying to fix that - and to say this girl is a bright light in my life is an understatement. I couldn't ask for a better person to progress through life with. She is beautiful, smart and holds her self well. And I know all this - but I often find my self with a warped perception of what I believe women to be and take that out on her.

She's beautiful and can get any man she would like, I am sure - men who are in a better position than me, who make more money than me, who can take her to places I cannot. I am just a student at the end of the day, She says she doesn't care about these things - she must do, there is no chance she is rejecting every single advance made her way although she claims she does. I wouldn't say I am insecure but I can acknowledge I have competition and have to make my position apparent. She says she has eyes for me but when she is surrounded by the likes of money made men or men a bit more established than me I just simply don't believe it.

This has resulted in me going down the path of infidelity - a contingency measure I took upon my self. The thought of women almost at the knees for me without me having to do anything was exciting to me. A path, as a man in love with his partner, I should not have taken. I thought to my self surely if it is this easy for me it is absolutely 100 times easier for my girlfriend to fall into this trap and so I kept at it. It was exciting until it wasn't - In the moment yes, it was an ego boost but then the harsh aftermath would follow. Seeing my self hurt the one person outside my family that I more than anything in the world was hard. Really really hard. And I hate my self for doing this to her.

When we argue, I have a habit of forcing my own warped ideologies about women on her but I think I know deep down she is a pure soul - she doesn't want to hurt me and I don't think she will. The way I think is for sure as a result of the content I consume,

My way of thought has truly poisoned my relationship. She says she loves me and she'll see through my changes but I can see in her eyes she is tired but I need her in my life. How can I turn things around?
