My theory is hvw and hvm are people who have learned to love themselves and know that no matter what, they always have their own backs, so they never have to compromise on their beliefs because at the end of the day, they know they will always be there for themselves. Even if it's just emotionally.

I think this comes from learning. Granted some people are brought up to know this if they have parents who know it, so it seems like it was inborn. I've also seen people sort of revert out of this and become low value because they lose confidence.

So I think it's taught. Either from birth or by experience at a later time.

I think it's more innate than we'd like it to be. We're pretty much born with our general personality. Think about good, stable families you know where there are multiple siblings. There's usually one who's a loser. He was raised just like the others, but it didn't matter. He was a bent pin from the start.

That said, with the exception of severe ASDs or maliganant narcissists, people can certainly improve on their personalities. But that's only if they're motivated to do it.

They often are raised HV with HV people, but I believe they also can be made, but only self-made. Anyone can change for the better, but it must organically come from within for it to be genuine and to stick. Can’t lead or hint or guide. That’s not true change.

High value people in general are born and made or neither or one or the other. In general I don’t like the idea of people being said they’re good because they were born that way or raised that way. Bad people come out of good families, good people come out of bad families, other bad people were raised badly and turned out bad and other good people were raised well and turned out well and vice versa.

Maybe it's innate just because of how women and men operate differently on a biological level. Early societies perhaps then divided labour accordingly—the best sex for the role. This perhaps became the cultural and social rule which is why even after thousands of years later and all over the world, the expectation for men and women remain relatively the same at it's core. Yes, major and slight changes have been made to this culture and social rule but the core remains so.

I think we live in a time where that culture and social rule (men protect, provide, honour and take care of women to ensure growth in their tribes—qualities of HVM at their most primitive level) has drastically shifted because the division of labor and roles that once was, no longer apply. Plus, socio-politics play a role in this.

Anyway, i think it could be innate, which turned into a culture and social rule all over the world. So now, it's taught since these innate values became stacked with layers of culture baggage.

With modernization, some societies changed significantly than others so some men are more LVM or HVM than others. Honestly, America prides itself in being the most progressive but in other areas their society regressed—their men are the most repulsive of them all. In other societies that America deems "backward" at least their men still hold onto HVM values.
