I personally see personal boundaries as your area of control, things you can actually influence.
Breaking boundaries, for me, is trying to make an impact outside of your area of control, opening up your boundaries is willingly giving someone else control of things in your life. For example, throwing a tantrum because something doesn't go your way, is bad boundaries. And on the contrary, accepting when something goes wrong and changing your actions accordingly, means good boundaries.
A good example is getting in shape. Some people accept responsibility for their poor food choices, start working out, learn to eat healthier. And some people complain about genetics, vicious snacks everywhere, buy diet pills, call their gluttony "food addiction" because if it's an addiction — it's an illness, means they are not responsible, they are sick. That's why I'm not a fan like terms "video game addiction" or "porn addiction" because it implies that these things are out of your control.
Now, about interpersonal relationship. Having boundaries, meaning seeing the area where you can act and have an effect. Someone disrespecting your boundaries, is someone who tries to get into your head and act on your behalf.
For example, you can be an interesting or charming person, so other people want to talk to you, and spend time with you, this is an effect you can have on people within your boundaries. But you can be clingy, demanding, whiny, and try and get people to spend time with you — this is outside your boundaries because you are trying to change something that's outside of your area of effect.
Similarly, good boundaries means that you calmly accept that someone isn't attracted to you. There is nothing more pathetic than a dude throwing a tantrum and insulting a girl's appearance or character after she rejects him. And on the contrary, a man taking a rejection with dignity invites respect, and think about it, only thing he did was demonstrate good boundaries.
You can be a sexual beast and infect your partner with your sexual energy so they want to try things new things with you, or you can be a borderline rapist who pushes sexual boundaries trying to control areas you have no control over — your partner sexual preferences and desires.
Setting boundaries and respecting other people's boundaries is a sign of a mature person. Immature people think boundaries are shared, that they can influence someone's mind, that they know what other person thinks better than this person, they project their own insecurities on other people.

A clear way to recognize someone with bad boundaries, is when someone doesn't respect your autonomy as a person, projects his own feelings and ideas onto you, disregards your opinion. It's an extremely common thing among men, especially young lonely men who hate women. Today I had this interaction:
https://www.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/comments/fx9ygh/men_are_bitter_about_women_because_they_struggle/fmw5fq7?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x
Basically, I'm sharing knowledge about how women view sex and why they don't have shitton of hookups despite sex being easy to get, and some sexless dude tries to tell me that my own experiences are wrong, and project his opinion about sex on me. I mean, wow. I am a woman who had her fair share of shitty sex, talked to women who had shitty sex, knows a lot about female sexuality based on my own and other women's experiences, reads a lot about it, and here comes some bitter incel trying to convice me that nonono, I'm wrong and sex is awesome I just have too much of it. Fucking lol. It's clear example of someone who doesn't have boundaries whatsoever, because he thinks every person in the world is just like him.
Be careful of men who speak for women on woman's behalf and ignore what you have to say, because these are men who will push your boundaries.
