Hello my awesome FDS'ers!

I want to share my story of finding and taking back my personal power through Brazillian jiu-jitsu.

I grew up in an upper class household that was a potpourri of horrible abuse. To the outside world my family looked like model Americans but don't ever be fooled: you never know what happens when the front door of a house closes. It's taken me years of therapy and overthinking to resolve and heal, but I'm finally there.

I am such a big advocate of Braziliian jiu-jitsu (bjj). It has helped me face the PTSD from being choked by my narcissistic asshole ex-husband and former loser fuckboy boyfriends, and given me strength to dig deep and unleash my incredible kick-ass personal power. It's been nearly two years since I started training bjj and it's empowering to know that if someone gives me shit, I can take care of myself, which might include running away but bjj gets you in amazing cardio shape too.

If you're not familiar with bjj, it's a grappling martial art that's similar to wrestling but with chokes, armbars, wrist and foot locks, sweeps, and throws. I train with men, women, teens, and smelly fuckboys (my radar is so good now) and enjoy submitting all of them in a respectful yet powerful way. And don't let age stop you: I'm in my late 50's.

I recently discovered FDS and it is the final dressing to the awesome, confident QUEEN ME. I recently dove back into the dating world and let me tell you, it's powerful to confidently tell men that I train bjj because they know I can kick their flubby fat asses, and if they don't know I make it very clear. It's also an excellent test to refer to Brazillian jiu-jitsu as bjj: if they make an off-color juvenile remark about bj's then it's an instant cockblock. Next.
