This paragraph of yours really annoyed me.

So what if you’re not married yet? Marriage is not the end-all-be-all of womanhood. It’s not a goal post you reach and then hug onto like Mario. Honestly, marriage is a scam for women. Did you know that statistically, as a woman, you are more likely to be murdered by an intimate partner than you are by a stranger creeping in the bushes?

Also, jobs with good money are not all that replaceable. They are material, yes, but a well-seasoned career won’t get up and suddenly leave you like a romantic partner will. You may think that guy was a quality person, but frankly, the truth is that the vast majority of men get up to all sorts of despicable things once they’re alone and safe behind closed doors—including the seemingly HV ones. That’s a bitter pill myself and many others have had to swallow.

You made the right decision choosing your career over him. Too many women do the opposite, and then you see them miserable on subreddits like r/JustNoSO or r/relationshipadvice.

I think you need to grieve the past and then take responsibility for your choices. What's done is done. He could have turned to an abusive shithead if you married him, he could have strung you along for years and never proposed. He could have been amazing and you two could be happily married but then you'd have another person to factor into all your career choices, which could have lead to an unsatisfying job. You don't know that path, you only know the one you're on. So instead of blaming that choice for all your future decisions, why not take an honest look at your life and decide how to make it better. If that career option turned out to be a dud, what can you do now to get the career you'd like? If you have a pattern of dating abusive men, what in your pathology is creating this attraction? What is the best option to fix this? Therapy, raising self worth through goal setting, meeting supportive friends through hobbies?
