I read this the other day and I'm still thinking of her. At least from her comments she has went to the ER and and has had a locksmith come. She says she is pressing charges and never wants to see him again, thank god. From what I read she was getting surprisingly good advice for Reddit, with regards to how strangulation is often a precursor to homicide, what the next steps are for her, and what legal action she should take etc. The whole post was so horrifying.

I'm going to echo what other commenters here have said about finding stable housing for yourself first. Also I wanted to ask if you're seeing a therapist at the moment? I had an abusive childhood and seeing a trauma therapist that was the right fit for me was huge. A therapist could also potentially get you set up on disability for complex ptsd. (Not trying to diagnose you but it's common in abused adult children, and the extreme social anxiety would fit into that.) I'm not sure where you are lo…

Yesss. All of the unnecessary exclamation marks when she's writing about her dates or being rejected. Her falling over alex and how handsome he is. Her getting called a sl*t in a context that is quite absurd, and having a panick attack. Idk I feel like there's no way this isn't a man.

Maybe Erin brokovitch? I love that movie dearly. While there is a romance plot he's secondary to her finding her purpose and career. There's also a great scene of female friendship and solidarity with one of the families she helps. All in all it's a great female level up movie.

When did it come to this place where we've been conditioned to feel so wrong for simply having desires? When did trusting our selves and our wants become so trained out of us? It makes me so sad.

Why is it this important to meet up with this dude in the middle of a global pandemic? You have no idea where he's been or if he's sick or asymptomatic. It doesn't matter how few cases there have been, you simply don't know. Why on earth would you want to put your health and risk and the health of anyone you live with at risk to go in a first date? Where I live in its very clearly understood that you can go out only with those who are in your household. The fact that you're allowed to meet up wi…

anyone else get more and more pissed at stoya as these posts come up? yes, this is the exact rhetoric i would expect from someone currently working in porn and promoting lib fem sex positivity... but does she have to speak for all women? this is such an incredibly damaging take. i have sympathy for her on some level because she certainly wasn't born feeling this way, it's the result of cultural messaging and perhaps trauma. but the way she peddles her perspective to men as if she is the mouth pi…

I would highly recommend watching Lisa a Romano on YouTube, she has a ton of amazing videos on codependency and childhood trauma. If you were emotionally abused as a child you were likely taught to believe some very unhealthy and untrue things about yourself. These beliefs can become subconscious as we are older but they still affect how we feel about ourselves, and how we act in relationships and the in world.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/04/20 09:09 PM

Agree. Unconditional love is what we are supposed to be given by our parents. But if we have immature unhealthy or abusive parents, its something we can learn to give to ourselves as adults. Expecting unconditional love from a romantic relationship will always lead to feelings of abandonment and disappointment. I know my love for a partner definitely has conditions, but my love for self does not.

Yes it's a game, you know he's lied to you before, believe people when they show you who they are. He is not worthy of your love. I'd block and unfollow him on social media, I know the feeling you describe of your beating fast when you see anything about them. It will only prolong the process of getting over them if you keep subjecting your self to his image or his texts. Block everywhere, spend this time skyline your girlfriends and focusing on healing. Good luck

Imo anytime we announce our high value strategies to a partner, we give a low value man the option to feign interest and fake it until he gets bored or we lose our sanity and end the relationship. By telling a man I won't have sex with him unless he makes me come, I could end up with a low value man who wants sex enough to put in that effort for a while. Personally I'd rather know from the jump what kind of sexual partner a guy is authentically. If someone wasn't satisfying me or tried to jump s…

Her child will be MUCH better off if she uses the 100,000 to get a divorce, stable housing away from an active addict, and starts at a local college. It might not be perfect but it will be so so much better for her child than staying in a horrible situation in order to pay for his tuition later.

I'm so sorry for the trauma you had to survive. My mom is also 100% pick me, my dad is an abusive lvm alcoholic, she chose him over me and my brother our entire childhood and young adulthood. I did read your comment, and you said that she hadn't given any advice to the op, and was only giving advice to potential lurkers. I replied with the part of her comment you had removed in your quote. That part of her comment directly gave advice to the OP. Is this really worth discussing for hours on end for you? You're getting downvoted, her original comment has 37 upvotes so clearly it was helpful for people.

of course i don't want her to dm everyone, that's why i didn't suggest it?? you did though. she posted publicly and she will get answered back publicly, that is how a forum works. at this point i don't think you're reading either mine or thewetdog_ 's responses. we have this sub to give each other advice, it benefits all of us. im gonna repeat what she said, if we follow what you're saying there would be no point of this sub, we would all be messaging privately. i don't know why you want to spen…

she is already in a loss, he owes her money. if she didn't receive advice here that she will easily get her money back in small claims court, she may never have filed and may never have seen that $700. at least now she has learned a step to take, and there is hope she can get back what she's owed. again, she knowingly posted on a public forum, she knows that theres a minute chance he could see it.

she came here to ask advice knowing it's a public internet forum. and she is getting helpful advice. you're asking people to stop giving her help based on the off chance that her boyfriend not only uses reddit, but is aware of this sub, and happens to go on this sub at the same time she has posted this question. even if he did happen to see this (which seems unlikely), he has admitted he owes her the money in text, now that she knows she can go to smalls claims court, he has no legal ground to s…

but its important for her to get the information that she will likely succeed in small claims court. she's already out the $700. there's no huge loss coming her way, it's already happened. she made a post here asking for help, people are arming her with information to help her. best case scenario, she gets back the money she's owed. worst case scenario, she's still in the same position she is in right now.

if we extend this logic then there would be no point of having this sub at all, because low value men could see any advice here and potentially use it. its risk vs reward. the amount of women who could be helped by having advice from this sub is much greater than the risk that a woman may have to deal with a lvm who happened to come across this sub and used the info here against her. the point is lvm will always be shady, we cant control their behavior, all we can do is arm ourselves and each ot…

i cannot stand this rhetoric and its everywhere on reddit. men commenting on how bad they feel if a woman crosses the street away from them at night. making comments like maybe its what i was wearing? maybe i looked unkempt? no. its not personal. its because youre a man. reddit is a strange mix of men barking about their "physical superiority" when it comes to sports, weightlifting etc but also men playing the victim towards women. men have no idea what the experience of constant physical vulner…

definitely not a first date question lmao. as someone currently working through my childhood trauma (although im not dating) id hypothetically run away if this was ever asked about me early on. dating is a risk, theres no way to guarantee from the jump that this person is in a healthy stable position. instead of trying to pry someones trauma history out of them, its better to escalate intimacy gradually, and keep high standards throughout. that way if or when the symptoms of emotional immaturity…

eh, personally this is not a sentiment i agree with. of course i don't identify with the "man hater" label fds had been pigeonholed into, but i also wouldn't describe myself as loving men generally. later on in your post you describe how these feelings only apply to high value men. well unfortunately most of the men i encounter daily would not fall into that category. yes these are feelings i enjoy with a partner, but they definitely don't describe how i feel about men as a whole. i also feel it…

Drake is the best example I can think of for a male feminist. Self proclaimed "nice guy" thinks he should get a gold star for claiming he respects women. In actuality he has repeatedly groomed underage girls. Dates girls 15 years younger than him. When Rihanna rejected him he made a song with the man who abused her so severely he almost killed her. Always be wary of a dude who dresses up basic respect for women as feminism and something he deserves praise for.

The insanity of this post is that it got voted to the front page and all the top comments are justifying his behavior. Disgusting. Since when is it gross to see your wife in lingerie, playing with herself? Most of the comments were saying that he didn't understand she was initiating sex. this makes me sad :( it's not that she needs a huge tacky diamond, but in my opinion that one is just esthetically way to small. the ring is obviously too small for her, imo the band is too thin, and the diamond is so tiny that it looks disproportionate and unrecognizable as a wedding ring.

Also he asked to be tucked into bed and have you pick an outfit out AFTER you guys had broken up?? Attack you? I disagreed with your use of a derogatory phrase. I completely agree with everything you've just said in this comment. In your original comment it came across as negging Amal based on her age. I can see that's not what you meant. I have no bad feelings towards you, have a good day :)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/01/20 11:48 PM

"Triggered" lol. A lovely retort to anyone who disagrees with you whatsoever. The phrase "no spring chicken" has a derogatory connotation, and I think in the context you used it came across as insulting. That's not something I expect to see on a woman centric subreddit. I can appreciate that that wasn't your intent though.

It's total bullshit you have to deal with that, especially at as young as 40. Women live longer, statistically you're still in the first half of your life! No one has that mentality towards 40 yr old men. It's so ridiculous. Enjoy your health and youth!

right? im bi but i mean that more to indicate that i've loved women romantically before, not to mean that im a voyeur of women's bodies in the same way men are. like being bisexual doesn't really come into this, because the way men view our bodies and how we view each other is so different. women typically feel attraction in a different way. attempting to make yourself seem cool by going to a strip club is an act done to appease a man, not get in touch with your sexual orientation.

Whats crazy to me is that THIS is what men fear so much. Not being abused, sexually assaulted, put in danger. Not being cheated on or getting an sti from their partners infidelity. But a women forming a community together and having standards like not paying for a date. Like their girlfriend having her own set of opinions on dating that don't line up with their own is THEIR BIGGEST CONCERN. Just a further reminder that shit is not equal, thats exactly why we need this sub.

I agree, he seemed like a loving and devoted father. The only yellow flag for me was that he had trouble regulating his emotions around his kid. Like swearing and getting angry etc. Might just be something I'm sensitive to though. I feel like for the most part it seemed accurate to real life, it's an expensive and gruesome progress. And the courts are set up to protect vulnerable women. Fortunately she was able to see that he's a loving father despite not being a good partner to her, and he stil…

I guess my issue is less that scarjo was portrayed as a villain (I don't think she was) and more that Adam drivers character wasn't framed that way enough. I don't mean to say he's a typical villain, at all, just an incredibly flawed and selfish man. I found the article linked above interesting, I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it came across to me that way. Personally I found that in the context his bad behaviour is framed in, it's feels as though it's portrayed as acceptable and n…

Damn I had no idea he left her while she was pregnant, that kind of character really puts things in perspective. Side note- I just have not understanding of why the "new woman" could ever be attracted to a man who does this. He leaves a woman he's made a lifelong commitment to when she's at her most vulnerable. Why isn't the new girl scared off by this disgusting behaviour?

When i was in high school, I found close friends for the first time and about half the group was male. The other half were female friends and a a few of them were dating the guys. Things were going fine until one of them developed feelings for me and from that point on I was iced out. Things came to a head one night when they all took turns texting me the most sexually degrading messages on his phone. /r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/01/20 11:30 AM

Okay so I have a question about the statistics. Men commit 96% of child sexual abuse in the US, yet men are only twice as likely as women to be pedophiles? That doesn't make sense to me. If men commit almost all sex crimes against children, wouldn't the ratio of male vs female pedophiles be MUCH higher?

Ugh like that Bill Burr bit. I fucking hate it. It's mostly said by men who have trouble getting laid, and are mad at us for being the enticing sex. They have no idea the litany of problems we face from being sought after. Well actually, they could, but they'd rather be willfully ignorant than listen to women's experiences.

I applaud her individually for doing such a beneficial thing for a good cause. However I do think it's a direct reflection of our patriarchal society that she had to be consumed as a sexual object in order to raise this money. I saw a post about her on the homepage, pickme's were commenting how sex positive and feminist this is. I think it's just a sad reflection of how men view us and our monetary value.

Men mostly seem to date for chemistry and attraction. We have to date for basic safety and respect before even getting there. If a guy feels an extremely high amount of chemistry and attraction, he thinks "she's the one." If we feel that, we think that's good, but we still keep our guard up until he's priced himself to be respectful of our boundaries and bodies, a safe man to be around. Once me and a guy were talking deal breakers (bad idea but it was before I found this sub.) I said someone who…

What does he mean by "a place where I'm seen and not heard"? Other than that I agree 100%. We open up naturally when we're in a safe and supportive environment. The anger and malice men have towards attractive and successful women with standards is highly disturbing. They really feel they are victimized by not being entitled to a woman at all times. Also, since when does a dream husband only bring 6 positive qualities to the table? Such a bare minimum. Can you imagine the trauma of having such a vulnerable moment broadcast to the world? The shame and embarrassment of everyone seeing you at your most fragile? And on top of that watching who you thought was the love of your life move on instantaneously? That poor girl, I hope she can find some healing from this. I agree, you're learning the lesson of resentment from overextending yourself. It's so important to learn to be your own main priority, you deserve it. It's incredibly difficult sometimes to either say no, or offer an imperfect compromise to someone we care about. But the bitterness of going against our own best interests always tastes worst than asserting our boundaries even in uncomfortable situations. We all make mistakes, it's how we learn 💜

It's what little boys on reddit who can't get laid say because they feel bitter. They want vengeance on attractive women. Sure to the average 17 yr old boy a 33yr old woman doesn't seem as attractive as an 18 yr old woman, that's normal. But a girl who's beautiful at 18 will be beautiful at 30 and at 70, and men around her age range (and out of it) will always recognize it. Love how their analogies always reduce us to stationary objects without autonomy, waiting to be "activated" when acted upon. Very telling about how they view women. Who cares if a man bisexual? As a bi woman with many queer friends, I can't imagine judging a mans value based on his sexual orientation that he cannot change. The thing that matters is behaviour. The stereotype of bi people being liars/cheaters/undateable is so tired. Personally it's a pet peeve when people judge me based on it. I think you need to grieve the past and then take responsibility for your choices. What's done is done. He could have turned to an abusive shithead if you married him, he could have strung you along for years and never proposed. He could have been amazing and you two could be happily married but then you'd have another person to factor into all your career choices, which could have lead to an unsatisfying job. No partner should ever be our world. That leads people codependency and unhealthy relationships, where if we leave, we have nothing, so it feels easier to just stay in the toxic relationship. We gotta build our own worlds from the ground up. A world we are happy to exist and create for the rest of our lives, without needing a man in it.

Ugh he messaged me the other day! What a loser 😭. The mods have blocked him now so hopefully he doesn't come sniffing around with a new account. Edited to say these comments are cracking me up lmao. How does he have enough time to message all of us? This dude is wild.

Tbh I'd have to disagree with your angle here. Beauty standards change across culture and time periods. There is no "objective" standard. And the fact that your example of a woman that fit the beauty standard was a white blonde woman, does come across as racist. I, personally, find Amal more striking than her. But I think we can all tell that they are both gorgeous. And depending on the culture/individual preference ,opinions would vary. I really don't understand this desire to objectify each ot…

"... fills her with indignation… and horniness. She’ll chastise you while stroking your thigh lasciviously. They can’t help themselves!" This part fucking kills me lmao it's straight out of a cringey fanfic. Imagine being this horny and desperate that you need make up these 'techniques' and create elaborate imaginary stories of your successes. 😂

I'm happy he's learning, but it does make me sad that he was incapable of coming to this conclusion by listening to women/ observing how we're treated. We are not viewed fully as human beings besides being someone's daughter, sister etc. In the dating game, we are seen as objects/conquests. Still I appreciate the self awareness, much better than my dad did lol.

The one big thing I gained from online dating was truly experiencing male disposability. It's honestly helped me a lot. I never had trouble getting dates in person so even though I'm in the age range where everyone's on tinder, I never went for it. I used to get so hung up over guys and feel that I would never find someone like (insert recent ex). OLD teaches you just how many men want you. Even if you're in a small town, I still think it could be eye opening. The thing I'm realizing is that eit…

The reason behind every "dead bedroom" and "crazy" wife. Put on an act for the first 3 months, then slowly reduce effort, make her less of a priority, get lazy in your shared spaces, and stop all attempts to seduce. Gaslight her when she attempts to communicate these issues. Blame her for her justified reactions to an unfulfilling and burdening relationship. Then he posts on Reddit that he hasn't gotten laid in months, wonder why?? . 😑🔫

i remember feeling this way when i first left highschool. i didn't get much attention from boys at the time since i was quiet and not in the popular group. suddenly when i left, it was male attention everywhere, some of it quite predatory. my advice is to listen to that creeped out feeling. i didn't once, and it ended in assault. don't be afraid to block, or not reply. when you're talking to a guy in person and he's hitting on you etc. make your first priority your personal comfort and safety. b…

genuinely makes me nauseous thinking about those poor little girls and the trauma they're probably having to endure. shit like this is fucking poison to a young mind. hoping one day they'll be free of this fuckery and have the resources to grow and become exactly the type of women their Parental Sperm Donor fears so much.

Okay i can't lie I only made it through like the first quarter of that. Yes he's a fuckboy. Do you see how emotionally pretzeled over this dude you are? That is the indicator of a fuckboy right there. Writing out something this long and detailed to over analyze all of the weird shit he's pulling on you.. his games have drawn you in. Get out, you are worth more than this, your limited time on this earth is not to be spent twisted up about some loser. Focus your energy and attention inward💜

Ah I'm feeling this a lot right now. I actually just made a post on a different sub about feeling "disappointed in the universe". I hate having these pity party feelings because I know in other ways I've been so fortunate, but I'm realizing these feelings of grief and sadness are necessary to process. Basically before therapy I just always minimized the abuse of my childhood, the bullying at school, everything following that. I think you should look at the symptoms of cptsd and see if they ring …

Ah this is a good idea. I might say something along these lines but maybe more like "I just like to have a minute to relax and get ready for a date after work." Or something else, that might not be good wording. I think using the royal we and referencing freshening up when this guy is a mechanic... it might not be as subtle as intended haha. If he doesn't shower on his own when given more time, then it might be appropriate to be more direct.

ughhh. had a friend who had been with this guy since we were in highschool five years ago. she regularly tells him she loves him, he doesn't say it back. he's very controlling about where she goes and how late she stays out. he straight up told her that they'd probably break up some day because he has a fantasy girl in his head he's gonna end up with. it's almost comical how trash he is, he's like a sitcom character. for a while i lived in the same city as her and i'd constantly be there for her…

I think you should only count from the time you've officially been together. Saying I love you is an extremely vulnerable moment, and he probably wouldn't feel comfortable to say it to someone he knows is only looking for something casual, because they just had a breakup. This is a good thing! Guys who profess their love extremely early on, usually put us on a pedestal and that is the beginning of the end. He probably didn't say it sooner because he doesn't want to rush you and or be seen as cre…

As someone from a similar background myself, I think there a few strategies that can help. For starters, I wouldn't disclose the details, possibly once you're in a long term relationship and there is trust established, but even then I'd be selective about what to say. In the beginning, just say something vague and neutral, and move on to a different subject. They will take the hint. The reason why I don't disclose all the gory details is 1) I've had people react badly before, and I don't want to…

I think this is something that might sound aspirational/classy but in reality may have the opposite effect of attracting a guy. If there even are single men attending a symphony, I just think they wouldn't be used to seeing that, they would clock her as being with a guy and therefore not single. Or if there was a man standing nearby watching her I think other guys would be turned off to approach, just personally. Also the symphony attracts all types of people social class wise. I think she may s…

I'm honestly so amazed that there is a stereotype of men aging more gracefully... have these dudes looked at themselves? Like I understand that the acceptable age range of a woman to be represented as beautiful in media is incredibly small, and they're brainwashed by that. But even so, look around? Of my friends parents and family friends growing up, the women looked better every single time. They took care of themselves, were at a healthy weight, got their hair done, eyebrows etc. Nothing extra…

Idk just sounds like a creative writing project. Imagine being so worked up that you spend the time to craft that fantasy story of attaining a girlfriend, in order to post it online for complete strangers. I guess I'd rather these losers do that than shoot up schools. Still hoping that one day they'll be able to overcome their obsession with women and actually "go their own way" and fuck off to form some virgin colony that dies out after a single generation. 🤞🤞

A guy at my last work place was fired for this before I started there. He set up a camera to record his girlfriends bed after their breakup. She was hooking up with a guy, and he saw a light flashing, and found it. I didn't know much about it because it was very under wraps, I believe a court case was underway. I hope she takes him down. It's so fucking disgusting and it's something I've thought a lot about since, when letting someone into my space. It's just so outrageous it's not something I w…

Hope you cut him off and the rest of the red pill community. I'm feeling like you're not in a great headspace right now if you're willing to engage and even meet up with these psychos. Please try to focus on your own mental health before diving back into dating, I'm worried about who you could meet. You're valuable and worthy of being treated with kindness and respect. Be kind to yourself, good luck out there💜

For me the red flag wouldn't be the happy hour specifically, but that there's been no change or escalation in 2 months? Seems like he's not exactly trying to chase you or impress you if after two months he's taking you to the same places at the same frequency.

I find not being able to assert boundaries a very low value guy move. Yeah he sounds "nice" and all. But in his inability to assert himself, he's getting her hooked on his responses, probably envisioning a future with him while he's contemplating wether or not she's worth even meeting again. She sounds like a mess too lol. Codependency creates resentment and conflict. I want to be with someone who can be assertive and tactful about setting boundaries and stating their needs.

I've heard it said that Friday/Saturday are the primo date nights when you're both more relaxed, less busy, and not having to wake up early the next day. But the weekend is a limited resource. He wants to make sure we're "worth it" before giving up a Friday night he could have spent pounding pbr and gross bar food with the boys. As someone also finally facing my issues resulting from an abusive father, it's baby steps and you need to accept where you are right now. It makes complete sense you're having some trouble in certain areas, trauma impacts everything and it's not your fault. Take the focus off trying to glow up into some external image of a high value woman. Instead I'd suggest to be very kind and compassionate to yourself, take some time unpacking this stuff. I believe that 60% of our eggs die by the time we reach puberty and start ovulation. We start off with a million eggs, and only roughly 300 will be ovulated by the time menopause begins. So having 90% of our eggs die by thirty really nothing in terms of fertility. We have a shit ton of eggs lol. And we only need one to have a pregnancy. He (and the egg freezing clinics) just like to twist the facts of biology to fit their agenda and be as alarmist as possible.

bleh. i was texting this guy for a few days, he started getting very attached very early on (we had never met), and so i told him i wasn't seeking out a serious relationship right now. he started saying how he feels like a fucking failure, i'm making him cry, he'll never find someone, he feels like a pos. i end up trying to comfort him about my own rejection? cue 20 min later and he's texting me all angry heated about how i "played him", looking for me to apologize.

but when she indicated that she had received this compliment before, and knew it herself, he reacted poorly. that to me indicates that he wants to feel special for noticing her beauty, doesn't it? like he is the first one to notice, or that her existence is validated and affirmed because he took the time to acknowledge her appearance with the most bland complement possible.
