Let me explain: I love fashion, and I’m in my 20s and a lot of people like to dress casual or urban in my big city in all black/sneakers/sweats. I love colors and to wear dresses, heels, purses. I noticed on first dates, men tend to think that I dress nice just for them. I feel like it back fires for me because instead of coming across as me just being myself, it comes across as desperation to LVM. It feels like there’s no way to win. Anyone else have this problem? Do I just put up with it? Often even if I am walking on the street, men assume I am dressed nice for my boyfriend. If I say I am single, they change their story and now I am dressed nicely to get a boyfriend. I feel like I have to dress more plain and in sneakers and sweats if I want to signal to them I want them to leave me alone.
