I've known a bunch of models and tbh their self-esteem is, on average, a total dumpster fire. I think it's because, since their looks are what they're paid for, that's what they come to value the most about themselves... Like you know how a surgeon would value her hands and identify herself as someone who saves lives? These women identify themselves by whether their looks are deemed acceptable and think of themselves as someone who looks a certain way. And even though the rest of us can recognize how traditionally pretty they are, what they hear is mostly men saying they're too short, too fat, their breasts are too big or too small, their hips aren't right, their nose is all wrong... they hear it all the time and they believe it.
I remember one of my dear friends who modeled cutting herself but choosing to do it near her genitals so it wouldn't look bad in modeling shoots. :(
Yet another reason industries based around objectifying women are awful. A woman doesn't have to be in porn to be grossly objectified and torn down. Merely being a normal model is enough...

Those looks are not a requirement for a woman to have fun after 45. In fact, they can often be a detriment because they attract a lot of fuckboys.
It's all about your frame of mind and tbh a lot of us don't feel that great about ourselves, no matter how great we look.

47 here.. been single and dating for the past 4 years. Have zero problem attracting nice looking, intelligent, educated men my age who in all honesty could date younger. I have found, even at my age that I’ve had to be choosy and set the bar a lot higher for who I’ll let in my life.. just like at any age, when you’re dating you come across men who are selfish and don’t put value on how they treat a woman. I’m currently dating someone who cooks for me, pays for all of our dates, compliments me, knows how to communicate, and really knows how a woman should be treated. I’ve had to sort through a lot of idiots to find him but yea, being older is not a death sentence, I know a lot of women my age that are still sexy as hell, of course being sexy doesn’t mean you have to look like that picture either!! I sure don’t!

I'm 52. Can confirm what you say. No problem finding dates with attractive, educated men, of any age I choose, including much younger than me if I'm in the mood for it, who will pay for dates. I haven't been lucky enough to find one worth keeping yet but I can certainly still pull them and although I do look good I don't look like Kate Beckinsale either.
Don't ever let a man make you afraid of getting older. It's actually pretty awesome.

tbh I don't know about older women being better in bed specifically but I know that I'm better at sex now at 23 than when I first had sex at 19 just because I wanted to be "porn perfect" back then instead of focusing on sex that was actually good. i used to do things and try positions i had no interest in or straight up didn't feel good because pornsick men thought it was sexy and i wanted to be the Cool Girl. i've talked about it with other women who agree - i think younger women are generally more inhibited and concerned with being "traditionally sexy" and as they age they get wiser and stop caring as much, you know? i have a friend who from 16-21 only had sex in the dark because she was ashamed of her love handles and rolls. now, at 25, she understands that any guy who's having sex with her is fucking lucky and fucking HAPPY to be with her and doesn't give a fuck about her stretch marks or rolls.
although i definitely agree that we shouldn't turn this into a competition.

Yeah self confidence and sexual connection makes the difference, regardless of age.
I think you’re right that sex is better for women as we get wiser about deserving to be pleased. Faking orgasms and putting up with jackhammering fuckboys gets old real quick. That initial comment by OP just rubbed me wrong -we have to deal with enough bullshit with men trying to pull us down, let’s not do it ourselves.
