FDS and Long Distance Relationships

Girl, long distance is a whole other ball game. When communication is literally everything, games are the last thing you need to play.

Live your life as normal. Make time for him around your other activities. Have a schedule and a flow. Be as considerate as you’d want him to be.

I’m currently long distance with my partner. When you love someone, there should be no games. I tell him hey babe I’m at work/the gym/going out to the bar with friends and he says great, have a wonderful time and text me when you’re home safe.

Near or far, the relationship crumbles when your partner is the only thing you have going for you in life. Honestly I love long distance more than I should because it allows me to do whatever I want whenever I want without guilt or obligation. In fact, I have to check myself and make sure I’m being more considerate of my parter, cause he never really calls me out when he totally could.

You don’t have to play games if you’re not faking being busy. And you should WANT to talk to your sweetheart when you’re free after you take care of your obligations. Most importantly, don’t do an LDR if you don’t trust him or yourself. That will be hell. Have normal boundaries of course, but remember - relationships are about being happy. Don’t be with a guy you feel you have to be super fake with in order to keep around from across the world. I’d never LDR with someone I didn’t trust. It takes a freaking MAN to get my free spirit self to agree to this when I could be running around single. But here I am :)

In sum 1. Have a life so you’re not just ignoring him without actually doing shit (and yes relaxing by yourself for me time is doing shit)

Be considerate. Let him know what you’re up to. It’s totally fine to forget. I send a late “sorry babe I went to the gym/watching a show or whatever ” all the time after ghosting for a while. If he’s not a psycho he will understand
Decide if you trust him 100%. This should really be number one
If you’re relationship is not as chill as mine, it might not hurt to get him familiar with your schedule and maybe norm on how many phone calls are good in a week

LDRs are my favorite as a WGMOW; however, I'm into relationships that are a couple hours away. That always gave me the ability to focus on my own life while being able to set aside private, dedicated time for each other away from the daily grind of life.

BUT...

I'd be cautious when it comes to extremely long distance relationships like you're referencing. I've noticed those men seem to use women as emotional crutches and therapists.

It's easy for them and very little investment. No dating, no expense, no helping you with "man projects" around the house, no being able to call him if you have a breakdown in your car, no gifts, no physical protection or contact, etc.

It's all about catering to their need for a woman's empathy and emotional support while offering little, if anything, in return.

I’m in an LDR. My man lives in the Netherlands, I live in the US. For me it works because he’s really needy for my attention, I’m a bit more aloof/need time to myself, but he always wants to talk to me. We video chat pretty frequently. He is visiting in a few weeks and he paid for the airbnb we’ll be staying in, plus the rental car, plus any other expenses while he stays over here. I don’t have to do anything except show up. I’m getting him from the airport and we’ll be together 24/7 pretty much for 2 weeks. He sends me money when I ask, whenever I want makeup or something. That helps me feel loved. We’re going to universal studios, museums, art galleries, hikes, saunas, spas, and hot springs. We’ll actually be able to bond, do actual dates.

He is also 2 years younger than me. He’s sexy looking. Showers everyday, thank god. Isn’t autistic or socially awkward. He actually values quality time with phones/electronics off. An LDR is worth it if the other person is worth it. An LDR takes effort from both people. It’s teamwork.
