Was it our mothers? Our fathers? Our religious leaders?

Who in God's name decided that we should punish ourselves and suffer through situations that make us miserable?

Aren't people always saying life is short? So why would I spend even a second of my short life allowing myself to be unhappy?

It's okay to make sure you are trying your best to be happy every single day of your life and if that means "giving up" on toxic people that make your life miserable, then so the fuck be it.

We need to let go of the notion that a relationship where you're constantly being hurt by your partner is somehow worth fighting for. That's how people find themselves in abusive relationships.

I feel this so hard. Everyone I know keeps telling me that every relationship has lots of fights but I'm 2 years in with my fiancé and the closest we've had to an argument or fight was a small disagreement last week about a video game we were playing. I cried but it was bc I forgot my antidepressant that day and I always cry over every little thing when that happens. We both respect each other too much to argue or fight.
