I have a history of being a pickmeisha and recognize that now. I’ve tried to be better this past year but still need some guidance.

There’s a guy who owns a business next to where I work. I’ve been a regular customer for eight years now, and he’s just a really nice guy. That’s all it’s been. I’ve always thought he was cute but never acted on it, and I’m terrible at flirting. But I mentioned I thought he was cute to my coworker back in May, and around October she went next door to ask if he’s single.

She just said that she worked with someone who he has a lot in common with so she was wondering. She didn’t reveal my name.

The next time she went in, he asked if she was talking about me. Since then, any female coworker who goes in there gets asked about me. He’s said to 3 coworkers that he thinks I’m cute. But when I go in, he doesn’t ask me out, just asks me lots of questions. He’s super friendly.

Anyways, he told my first coworker last week that he’s going to ask me out the next time he sees me. He wasn’t sure if I had a boyfriend, and she told him I just broke up with mine over Christmas.

How do I proceed? I don’t want him to think I’m rebounding (and I’m not because my ex sucked and I didn’t have feelings for him and wouldn’t even consider him a BF). I’m all nervous that he thinks I’m desperate for him because my coworker approached the subject first. I guess part of me is worried about seeming too eager or interested.
