It’s misogyny because we know by “attention seeking” she means men. But the reality is, it’s because of men women feel it’s necessary. Men are the ones harshly judging grey hair, are the ones largely controlling the narrative around female beauty, and are the ones primarily benefiting from selling female hair and dye products.

The CEO and/or founders of Clairol, Overtone, L’Oreal, and Revlon are all men. 🤷‍♀️

Your sister puts other women down to feel better about herself. She should instead dare to question why women have been socialised to dye their hair, instead of putting them down for it.

You’d be amazed how much attention my greys draw. Not necessarily the good kind. Unless you’re talking about blue or pink or purple hair, I think a lot of the time hair dye is just to blend in and meet the beauty standards in society.

It's assuming women ever only do things for external validation, which heavily refer to the belief that women's value is dependent on how everyone else see them (read: how much of value the patriarchy assign them)
