Okay, so I used to have my own wild style until my first "boyfriend" at 17 gaslit me when I found out he cheated on me and told me how I didn't dress well.
Fuck him, but I took that internally and cleaned up a little. Still I feel like I could dress and show off my assets and be somewhat provocative without feeling shameful.
Fast forward maybe 2 years ago, I started dressing more conservatively. Not completely, but I became a bit more aware. Dresses a little longer, less nip/bralesss looks (I'm super flat A cup anyways).. Etc. I did not want to be objectified and seen as a sexual object.
And now today, I'm thinking fuck that shit. Being objectified or not is a matter of shitty men and how we women respect our selves. Shitty men is explanatory. But I think I'm starting to learn that no matter how I dress, if I let a man walk over me, they will. If I allow and tolerate behaviors from shitty men, they will eventually see myself as an object. Ie. Always accepting casual hook ups on their schedule and time.
How do you ladies dress nowadays? I'm somewhere between an aritzia bitch, and Alexander Wang edgy style and hint of free people.
