The HVM

  • The HVM responds to a breakup with grace and respect. He won't insult you or start talking shit about your relationship. He maintains a class and decorum, because he knows it reflects badly on him if he is out here slandering an ex's reputation.
  • Furthermore, he doesn't harbor any ill will towards you, unlike bitter LVM. He is a full-grown mature adult and is able to be amicable and cordial with an ex or with a woman who has rejected him.
  • The HVM responds to you rejecting a date with him with respect too. He says something along the lines of no problem, I wish you the best, and moves on with his life. He does not resent you for rejecting him.
  • The HVM will never pester you after you reject him. He literally moves on and respects your decision.
  • The HVM takes setbacks in other aspects of life in stride too. When he doesn't get called back after an interview, he knows it just means he needs to up his interview/resume game. He doesn't hate on the interviewer. When he not able to lift 200 lb weights at the gym, he knows he will have to work up to it, over months, and dedicate more time achieving his goal. When he does poorly on an exam, he knows that it's time to address his weak spots and try again. HE DOESN'T BLAME OTHERS FOR HIS SHORTCOMINGS.
  • He has a healthy attitude towards rejection and failure, and possesses self-reflection skills and drive. Make sure the man you're seeing has self-awareness and doesn't blame his shortcomings on people that aren't him.
  • He doesn't feel entitled to women's time or attention. Does not really get bothered or feel like women should be after him just for him existing or just for expressing interest.

The LVM

  • The LVM responds to a breakup with anger or passive-aggression, or at worst, abuse. He gaslights you, he crazy-makes, he will start attacking your character. He is desperate and egotistical, and cannot handle the fact you're an autonomous individual who makes her own decisions. He will not be able to be a trustworthy, amicable ex.
    • This is why vetting is so important. LVM are not only horrible to date, but they make horrible, bitter exes.
  • He is bitter, resentful, vindictive, and harbors ill will towards you for leaving him. He may try to ruin your reputation or air dirty laundry.
  • He is not capable of being cordial, amicable, polite, civil, or classy.
  • The LVM responds to rejection in a crass and uncouth way, usually swearing, being passive-aggressive, sulky, rude, or inappropriate. They cannot take rejection in stride. May blame his lack of dating success on people that aren't him.
  • He may try to deny ever being interested in you and try to make you out as crazy.
  • The LVM has an outlandish sense of entitlement to women's attention and time. Feels like he is owed a date or relationship with you. Delusional, egotistical, self-absorbed, and angry vibes emanate from his being. Alternatively, lazy, sulky, low-effort, and passive-aggressive low-value individuals exist too.
