Currently work for a stem company as an hr assistant. I was nervous because everyone around me had fancy degrees with fancy pay and my position is a glorified secretary. And of course being stem, 99% of them are men.
A few months in and I realized there was no reason to be intimidated in the slightest. Sure qualifications play a small part, but everyone there got the job because of a good reference. On a logic level, quite a few are lacking and the other few women there I dare say, are much more intimidating on an intellectual level. Also much better teachers.
