Men don't stand up to other men unless they think they get something from it, like female attention or sex as a reward. Men will always be loyal to other men, like it's some boys club.

I was married for a long time. When I was married other men, for the most part did not hit on me and were not disrespectful to me in social settings . It wasn't because my husband actively protected me from these men, but because they saw me as his property. It's part of the bro code.

Once divorced I became fair game. I was immediately hit on by the single men I knew. I was fresh meat. Then married men, even husbands of friends started hitting on me. This was very confusing to me at first. I had previously thought all of these men were my friends "good men." I couldn't have been more wrong. Not only were they not my friends they actively exploited my vulnerability, being divorced after 20 years. They were fucking animals.

Men don't protect us in any real sense.
