I had to stop one due to financial constraints and two because she wasn’t that helpful when it came to love relationships.

I was deciding between a PhD and continue to work for a while and it was so difficult to decide that I started seeing this therapist.

I know all psychologists are human. She was divorced and had two kids. She is around 50 years old.

So when I was telling her about my conundrum she would help me to reach some peace. Then the covid situation got complicated and I Started seeing someone. After we broke up, I was feeling sad. So I started telling her about him and my past relationships. She wasn’t helpful at all. One week after we had broken up, I was very sad and she told me “it is been one week you have to get over it. It makes no sense for you to feel sad anymore”. And after that I only had one more session with her because I had bought a package that made the sessions cheaper.

Everyone needs time to let go. Her words made me feel attacked. I don’t feel sad or anything for this guy anymore. But now I think about the psychologist and her harsh approach towards relationships. Maybe because of her past.

She came recommended. That’s why I started doing the sessions with her. But now, I worry about having a new therapist. Therapists are expensive and I can’t see myself spending so much money for a session when they won’t even allow me to feel.

What challenges do people usually face with therapists ?
