I used to think I was such a good catch because I excelled at all of these “wifey” things. Total BS. I did all of that and more and it wasn’t enough for the men in my life

I still do all of the “wifey” stuff, but now it’s just for me and my kids. No man will gain access to that, or to my body until he proves himself worthy. Never again.

It sounds like she's placed WAY too much significance on being with a man. There's 100 things 100X more important in this world than getting a husband and excelling at womanhood. That's why she's unhappy. Do right by you first, have a big, fulfilling life and find one that fits as a convenient addition into YOUR life.

Plain and simple, if your life highly revolves around men or A man, you WILL be disappointed because men are far, far, FAR from being perfect human beings and perfect partners, and you will run yourself ragged trying to please someone. Live for yourself, your children, your animals, your close friends, your career, your passions, hopes and dreams.

I agree. I like talking to my bf about these things to hear his opinion on men because he's pretty introspective. When asking him about this he was literally like "I don't need that stuff I can pay people to cook and clean for me" lol and its true. He doesn't expect me to do any of that stuff and in fact paid for my new apt to be deep cleaned for me <3 Losers see you as the help and unpaid labor. It changed my perspective and I stopped worrying about that stuff so much and instead focused on managing my emotions and not getting triggered in a way that was disproportionate to the situation (childhood abandonment etc.) and being pretty. Now I can just focus on that and relax into my femininity work and focus on myself not being codependent trying to fix him and life is much better.

Being a wife isn’t being a woman. What’s “wife material” mean? The ultimate pick-me?

What about just being a fulfilled emotionally mature person without needing validation in the form of a marriage proposal?
