In some ways, I feel like I've found my tribe. So much of what is said here resonates with how I've always felt. At this point, I'm happily single, and won't mourn if I never find a mate. I would far rather be single than in a relationship that doesn't add value to my life.

Part of what has made me accept single life as a realistic outcome is who I am. I'm asexual and childfree (the choice to actively avoid having children - not the same as childless). I am however straight and romantic. I would like a loving, romantic relationship with a man. A ton of the advice and discussion here revolves around sex and assumes that a HVM wants and expects it, as well as assuming that as women, we want children.

I can see finding a high value childfree man. I can't say I have high hopes of ever finding one that doesn't want kids or sex.

I wouldn't consider myself a HVW in certain other respects, but those are all things I can change and am willing to change. But I won't be a sex toy or brood mare. I've considered being open to an open relationship, but the reservations expressed on this sub ring true to me, and honestly that's not my preference. I've also considered the possibility of marrying a female friend - not as a lesbian relationship but because I've found overall female friendships add value to my life in ways that men don't.

I'm exceptionally picky in what I'll tolerate from men, and my life is easier without them. I'm skeptical of finding the right fit for me even if I can be a HVW as a childfree asexual. But I do sincerely like good men. I know there are men out there I'd be thrilled to share my life with.

Do you think it's possible for an asexual childfree person to be considered a HVW, and thus able to effectively employ a good portion of this sub's strategies?
